It fits exactly how it's supposed to, I am 5 foot 6 and I ordered the extra large because I wanted a little more length to it just as a lightweight robe to wear during the summer time and the mornings or after I get out of the shower. The length is exactly what I wanted I love the extra tie on the inside, the sash works great but since it is satin it will slip a little but it's an easy fix you can just sew on a snap or something if it bothers. I hate sleeping with pants on, but I always wake up and have to use the bathroom or I wander around and check on the house. Having a teenage step son with constant friends over, I couldn't really do this. My husband got me a big plush robe for winter so I could throw it on and leave the room in the middle of the night, but it was too much for the summer months. This is so light and comfy, and it falls to almost my knees so nothing is showing. The only downside is having a silk belt part, which doesn't stay secured.
