That one can get so much flavor our of a K-Cup is a wonder.This has been my daily afternoon coffee since I first tasted it -- replacing (for reason of price) my other K-Cup favorite, Pete's Major Dickason's.I'm hoping it will remain so. But Amazon seems to have a habit of offering good coffees at a fair price and then booting the price step-by-step until it is out of reach -- starting the search for me all over again.Well one can hope! And for now enjoy. And that's something!. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Half the pack is "mild" (almost decaf?) - won't wake you up *by S***H on Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2018* I like the variety, but heads-up for serious coffee drinkers: the orange and the green are "Mild" and essentially decaf. So, only half this shipment will actually wake you up in the morning. The blue/yellow are the only dark roasts here; I think the yellow (Ethiopian) has a fuller/richer taste, and the Brazilian (blue) is a little more bitter. I liked the variety pack for the sake of trying different things, but I had to toss half of it because it wasn't waking me up. I now exclusively buy the blue or yellow. ### ⭐⭐ Costa Rican just doesn't cut it. *by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2012* Costa Rican has, in the past, been one of my favorite "go to" coffees, especially the tarrazu, when I lived in a city and had a botique coffee store which roasted and packaged their premium quality beans. Sadly, the older couple retired and closed shop just before I moved to a small, rural town. I haven't had a good Costa Rican coffee since. Living in the rural, very small town that I now live in I'm limited to ordering online anything other than grocery store coffee.Nowdays I usually use a Keurig rather than grinding my own beans knowing full well that a K-cup coffee will never be as good as fresh ground. I was really looking forward to the Brown Gold Costa Rican varietal and had high hopes that this coffee would at least come close to the great Costa Rican coffee I had in the past. Before ordering I researched the Brown Gold website and was excited to see that they did mention Tarrazu in the Costa Rican description. I doubt this coffee has any of the Tarrazu beans in it, the flavor just isn't right.As far as the coffee goes, I've had worse, but then again, I've definately had better. I enjoy a lighter, lively coffee first thing in the morning and a good dark roast in the evening. This falls in the middle but without the fine qualities of either. Although Brown Gold says this is a light to medium roast, it comes across somewhat heavy and bold. There is a chocolatey finish but more like a Hershey bar than a fine chocolate. It definately does not have the nuances and intensity of a good Italian or Espresso roast, it just comes up lacking.
