I've changed from an i7 - 975 with a large coolermaster heatsink and double fan running at 60c and benchmarking at 6500, to this cpu running at 32c at idle and 36c under load using the stock fan supplied with it- benchmarking at 7200!!!! The 22nm technology has really improved my pc experience. Less power, less heat and less noise. My case has 5 fans and i've turned 4 off!!!! So as long as you don't want to over clock, as this cpu is locked. Its an amazing purchase at a good price point.
