Is this just out of an extreme abundance of caution, or is it fully necessary?** A: As you stated this is due to extreme abundance of caution which is required by the testing requirements. I use one to pack of meat and fish and I will pack off 25 - 40 packs back to back with no issues. I like this model and the locking lid feature and found that I pack off the first bag lock it in and press start. Then while vac and sealing pack the next bag. Works perfect for me. Thanks ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great upgrade from food saver *by Y***H on August 22, 2022* I had a top end food saver for years and probably sealed over 5000 bags and 3000 ft of 6"/8"/12" rolls with it, but it finally quit working. I really wanted an upgrade that would last me and went back and forth on chamber sealers vs suction sealers. Decided on this type since chamber sealers can't do whole racks of ribs or full fish filets and a lot of them can't do canisters. After a ton of research, I found this one. The other reviews are correct, this this is amazing. It is a serious sealer! The only downside is no roll storage/ onboard cutter, but that takes up a lot of space in the machine and pre cut bags are much cheaper than they used to be so not a big deal. I'll hand cut out of rolls if I need something longer than 16".I've only put about 100 bags through it so I can't speak to its longevity, but the parts are replaceable which is great because I really don't want to spend hundreds on a new sealer when all it needs is a new gasket or heat strip. Next week we going on a salmon charter so it will be put through the paces then.MagicVac makes canisters for marinading that will release pressure automatically, but it will also work with food saver canisters too. I used a small weight and a piece of tape to hold the seal release button down on the canisters, works great and I already had them. If you're on the fence about which sealer to get, buy this one. I wasn't disappointed and you won't be either. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great vacuum sealer. *by C***. on September 15, 2022* I used this sealer to bag some steaks. I've used several different brands of sealers and none comes close to the power and speed of this one. The biggest plus is the seal. I used a pre cut bag that came with it so it had quite a bit of extra bag for the amount of steak I sealed. It still pulled moisture all the way to the outside edge. Other sealers I've used failed to seal properly most of the time when that happened but not this one. So far I'm very impressed overall with the function of this one. Instructions on use are very plain and very easy to operate. Very solid well built unit. It's heavier than a lot of others but not so bad it's uncomfortable to move around. This isn't a cheaply built unit mostly out of plastic. Only thing that would make this better is roll storage and cutter. I'm guessing they didn't do it because of fear it'd make it to big and awkward having the roll on it. But I wouldn't let that be a deal breaker. This is my second Magic Vac machine, the first one served me well for 16 years, and I used it extensely throughout the years. The Magic Vac is total quality and super easy to use.
