The only floating things are pieces of vegetables or spices. If you are worried, go back to using a rock. **Q: Is it heat resistant? can be used for sous vide?** A: I don't know the answer, because I've never used the weights that way, but I imagine they would be suitable. They are very heavy, high quality glass. And sous vide uses low heat, doesn't it?
