It also has a view port in the side on the sleeve to see how full the pot is getting but I empty it after daily work. My only concern is there is no availability of replacement filters but with regular rinsing in water the life is greatly improved. Just a side note, the filter seems to be made of cross woven polyester same as used in batting for comforters and quilts. I have not checked this out but a trip to the local fabric store with the filter may get you enough material for a life time supply. Review: The quality of this pot is outstanding.
