I had been looking to replace my aging Apogee Duet for awhile and was considering a Universal Audio Apollo Twin or RME BabyFace Pro, but when the MOTU 624 was released it checked all of my boxes—top of the line audio specs, crazy low latency and compact form factor. I don’t use all of the I/O on it but the mic pres are super clean and it works great with everything I’ve thrown at it. Definitely satisfied with my choice. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars Huge quality issue *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2016* I bought this unit because of the low latency and on board DSP, with supposedly high quality mic preamp and DAC as advertised by MOTU. I ordered it before Christmas thinking I would enjoy a nice gift to myself with my newly purchased AKG C214 mic over the holiday. The huge disappointment is the mic channel produces a wheeing pitch once the 48V Phantom power is switched on (the mic performs fine with my existing gears). Called the seller and I was told that this is not a single case. Even though this is a newly introduced product, not sure why such a serious issued is not resolved before MOTU made mass production, or they maybe using some defective component supplies.
