The rest of the glove is a felt like material.Ok, hear me out - First of all I haven't had the chance to wear these in very cold conditions, so I'm speaking on what I know at this time. Fair enough?Ok - the material is a soft and spongy. I was hoping for more of a leather style with an insulated layer. Of you get anything on these you will end up having to wash them. I haven't tested how much they soak up liquids, or how well they hold up to being washed & dried. To be honest, considering how cheap they were I can't hold them to a high standard. I bought these because of the high ratings.Good - I say this because I like tighter gloves. I'm retired military and I like gloves that allow great finger movement for shooting and detail work. These gloves are like having your hands surrounded in marshmallow goo. They are wonderfully comfortable, and the fingers move perfectly for 99% of all normal actions.Great - This is where you need to pay attention. If your buying these for kids who will spend hours making snowballs, they will end up with wet hands. If your the normal adult, you will LOVE how comfortable these guys are. They honestly remind me of curling up with a hot blanket fresh from the dryer. No, I'm not going to break down and start singing Christmas songs!!! Lets face it, these bad boys cost less than $12 a pair. They fit well and so far I can't see any downfalls. With all this in mind I give them a great review. I am glad I made this purchase. I do not know how well they will hold up to snow/rain, but they are indeed very warm. I live in Minnesota, and I anticipate that these gloves will keep my hands as warm as any in temperatures around 0 F. One thing I was worried about was the logo on the gloves in the pictures - for those of you with similar concerns, it appears to just be a watermark on the image; the gloves I received had no logo on them, just black material.Although they are very soft and comfortable, my only complaints would be that they probably are not waterproof and the fit on the thumb and pointer finger were a bit long (I cannot go a size down b/c fit on the middle and index fingers is perfect). I am pleased with my purchase, but I will have to wear them through the whole winter (in a variety of conditions) before I would decide whether I would buy them again. They were so comfortable. They were worn, stained and looked bad. I bought many gloves over the years - but they never were comfortable, too tight on my finger tips and therefore not warm for day to day activities. So I would stop using them after a week and go back to my "Winter Deer".I was really happy when I saw these on Amazon and they turned out to be the identical gloves with an updated brand name. I couldn't be more pleased.
