Review: I'm (still) a believer!!!! - UPDATE 8/11/18 The grip heaters are still going strong. Know, however, that the ATV is used for work around the property and plowing snow in the winter, so actual hours are pretty low. The grips have worn (smoothed) just a little bit more than I think they should have under the use they've seen, but still a great product, in my opinion. EDIT 5/29/14 Using these grip heaters over the winter has solidified my opinion that these are a "must-have" for any ATV used in cold weather. The heated rips coupled with good leather, insulated gloves kept my hands comfortable during a few several-hour plowing sessions in sub-zero temps. Even in mid-fifties weather this spring, it's nice to have them on the lower setting for just a little added warmth with light gloves. ORIGINAL REVIEW As others have stated, these grip heaters WORK. The separately-set grip and thumb-warming elements allow for adjustment of each. (So far, I usually end up with thumb one notch higher than the grips.) Even on a "cool" rather than "cold" day, the heat is a welcome addition. Time will tell how they handle single-digit temps while plowing snow, but I have little doubt they'll be effective. Like others have suggested, I chose to connect the system to a key-switched power source. This provided two important things: 1) Automatic shut-off when turning off the ATV, and 2) A fused power supply. On my 2008 Grizzly 450, I used the accessory plug in the right-side fender. ...And don't worry, the system returns to the same settings it had before power was removed. Installation using the 3-times-applied WD40 worked like a charm, with the grips sliding on effortlessly. I will caution users, however, to twist the grip to the desired position immediately upon installation, as waiting even 5 minutes will result in a grip that is almost immobile. Since I'm rather particular, for the left grip, rather than having the wire run around the switchgear, I removed the switch assembly and, using a Dremel tool, cut a small relief notch in both sides the plastic housing. This allowed me to run the wire *through* the switchgear, instead, making for a cleaner installation. If/when we add another ATV to the herd, these grip heaters will be one of the first modifications made.
Review: good, no issues. - I like these hand and thumb warmers. They install quite easily and they warm up quick when you turn them on. You can select different zones for the grips or the thumb and have them set differently. The controller has 5 levels of heat and the 5th level can get quite warm to the touch. I have used these in combo with some handlebar mitts when it gets really cold out riding and my hands stay toasty warm even at -4F. The controller can be mounted to the bars, and that mount is not the most rigid or sturdy, but will work, or to your dash area. Recommendations: the directions for the installation have you wiring these directly to the battery and not to any ignition powered circuit. Also this system does not have any fuse for the system. I wired mine to a fuse and an ignition powered relay to it so it will not drain my battery if I forget to turn it off.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does any one know how many amp these use on the hightest setting.**
A: According to Symtec's site: "Maximum 40 Watts (20 Watts per grip) at 14 Volts"This doesn't appear to include the thumb warmer, which I would assume would be around 10 watts (but that's a guess). If you want to know for certain, I'd suggest calling them at ( 8 8 8 ) 5 7 1 - 9 1 9 3.

**Q: What style are these grips, push on or clamp on? The description says push on and the pictures show the clamp on style.**
A: They’re actually both. There is a pistol grip sleeve that goes over your tube and a clamp collar that retains it

**Q: My son races atvs. His fingers freeze due cold and wet conditions...so what happens if these get wet? He drives threw low streams**
A: There will not be an issue when they get wet. Ours still work fantastic. Just an fyi that his palms will get warm/hot and the top of his hands may still be cold. Best when paired with something to block the wind.

**Q: Has anyone ordered these from kinney's cycles (through amazon) and is the controller grey as shown in the picture or black like the demon model?**
A: I sell them in my Amazon store and they are black

### ⭐⭐⭐ Not too crazy
*by D***F on February 28, 2014*

I chose this rating because the mounting bracket is poor, you cant turn the grips and the thumb on at the same time????? The grips do not get that hot. they fit great, easy to wire up but when it's cold you need the heat on both. I don't think I would recommend this because of the switch control.
