What you see is NOT what you get. *by B***K on Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2017* The product I received matches neither the photos nor the description of the item. The illustrations clearly show a rack and pinion mechanism for height adjustment; the item I received uses a friction drive that slips very easily. A graduated scale is shown on the base, what I received has none. The pictures show and the description mentions "snap" and "zoom" buttons on the side of the unit. The one I received lacks them. According to the description, it is capable of 1000x magnification. The best I've been able to get using their calibration ruler is 300x; specifically I can display the 0.1mm grid as 3cm squares.That being said, the unit does work reasonably well if you don't mind fiddling with it a lot to get the field of view and the focus you want and you only need less than half the "rated" magnification.UPDATE 2017/03/28: For whatever reason the device will no longer allow images greater than 640x480 pixels, or 0.3MB. There seems to be no way I can find to contact the vendor. ### ⭐ This product's software does not load properly. Instead, what appears to be someone going through prompts on your computer from an outside computer happens. And that language is in Chinese.
