It was too long for the handle and MUCH too loose. I would have been fine with it being too long IF it had fit somewhat securely. I cut off the end (about an inch) so it would not be too long, and then used it to move my hot cast iron pan to the sink to wash with hot water and my chainmail steel thing. I was holding it as firmly as I could, but the pan SLIPPED OUT of the jacket (the first time I used it) and had there been anything breakable just beneath it in the sink, it would have been broken or shattered. I would recommend this only for the LARGEST skillets -- and even then you won't know for sure until you use it, because it is very roomy within. **Q: Can I leave this on when it's on the oven?** A: If you leave it on, it will get hot just like the pan. Use it on the pan to take out of oven and to protect from grabbing hot handles once the pan has been removed from the oven. **Q: Would this possibly slip over an old Revere ware coffee pot handle to protect it when I'm using it on a campfire?** A: They didn't fit my pan handles, so I gave them to friends.
