It's not thick, but very soft. I share it on the sofa with my dog for break time, but she takes her half out of the middle, so I might just cover my feet. I saw a complaint of shedding, but I washed and dried on delicate before using, and haven't seen any shedding. Like all polyester throws it can get staticky in the dryer, but a dryer sheet (and static-control setting if you have it) will avoid that. The khaki color leans toward caramel/gold.
