It takes little bit of luck and persistence. I get it by turning the air speed way down and burp the trigger while inserting the pin. Eventually, you’ll get lucky. Not a bad idea to be wearing safety glasses at the time. It’s sort of a crappy design, but not too much of an issue for me; I just use the 3” disc. The 1” and 2” I use with smaller tools anyway.
