Review: THIS IS THE BOOK TO GET - WOW am I glad that I bought this book. If you are serious about setting up a system to make sure you can keep track of many responsibilities and not let things fall through the cracks, this is a key book. It takes into account and describes ten of the top systems that are out there, and explains the strengths and weaknesses of each. That alone is worth the read. But then, he proposes a system that simplifies and conjoins the best of each. At the same time, he makes it clear that you have to make whatever changes are necessary for your personal work situation, your work flow needs, your personality and proclivities. He doesn't say this is the only way to do it. He makes a clear set of guidelines, and says this is what works best for him, and then challenges you to be willing to make any changes or tweaks that work best for you. The book is short, but not so short that it misses explaining the nuances. It does not go into pages upon pages of stories and examples that some books on this topic do, which get overwhelming and take way too much time. Each chapter in this book is about 3-4 pages long, so you can keep moving. I was so in need of this help that I basically made going through the book my top project, because I think it is going to help me so much. It has already answered a lot of the questions I have had and frustrations I have experienced in trying to apply other systems, and I'm excited to try this new approach, which I think will solve some of the problems I have encountered. He also addresses the real issue of feeling overwhelmed by a to-do list that just gets longer and more daunting as the days go by, and the importance of not allowing yourself to get into that kind of depressed mental state. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for help with how to get things done.
Review: Read. Act. Review - A concise and highly practical summary of how to tackle your work load using to do lists. I liked the discussion of different approaches, especially pointing out their weaknesses. This is a fast read, packed with information. If you are finding your time management approach not working for you, then I would suggest reading this book three times. This is because many points raised are quite vital to your ability to get good results, but because the information is condensed it may not appear so critical. For example, the value in getting your to do items down to a few for the day (D. Says 7). This is about focus on doing things that matter and advance your key goals. Until you learn that everything else, no matter how seemingly important, are just distractions to achieving things that you identify as making the difference to your achievements, then you will just be efficient, busy and still frustrated. Such things are discussed, sometimes in a just sentence or two. So I suggest you get this book, and read it several times, acting on things you dismissed until your to do list is working for you like a super-charged personal assistant.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Whether you are new to or experienced in To Do Lists......worth your time.

I've been keeping to do lists for a long time. LONG TIME. Never understood until reading this book that I have been hampering my own successful completion of tasks and driving myself crazy with frustration and stress. I feel that I am just spinning my wheels and getting farther and farther behind in the endless brain dump that are my many lists. I always joke with people, often saying "my to do lists have to do lists." I started keeping lists in order to help with getting better sleep because I had a difficult time falling asleep and/or waking in the middle of the night, mentally mulling over everything swimming around in my head. Never realized until reading through this book that it's not just enough to get my thoughts down on paper (brain dump) and make my way through the 100's of items listed, but that there is a greater purpose served when it's done correctly. This book does not focus on one correct way, but talks about many ways and the pros and cons of each. With newfound information, you can then move forward in creating a to do list specifically tailored to you or your thought process. This book is easy to read through, it's organized and its concise. There's not a lot of fluff or filler, just great concepts explained with examples given to add to the topic being discussed. Lots of great information that's easy to then apply and start using right away. This weekend, my #1 to do item is to restructure my to do lists, to make them workable and more efficient. Who knew there was a correct way or ways to create to do lists!! Thank You!
