However now the motor whines at low speed at the PWM freq. How can I stop the noise?** A: You might cure that with a capacitor with a voltage rating higher than the supply voltage, and perhaps a capacity rating of 100 mfd. This capacitor type is polarity rated, so you would need to put it across the terminals going to the fan in way you are supplying the voltage. You would also have to be sure not to reverse the power to make the fan go the other direction. capacitor could probably be as low as 20 mfd. It can be placed anywhere in the line, or right at the fan. The capacitor should smooth out the chopping voltage. As scott says, it might not list to run on low power. **Q: can this contoller switch be used for a razor motor scooter E 300 is 300 watts but if i put a 12 volt battery???** A: No. Your scooter will require a controller that will handle at least 25 amps (the formula is 300 watts, divided by 12 volts, equals 25 amps). But, as I said, there is a great picture on the Amazon page that clearly shows how to connect the wires. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ very nice *by J***M on December 24, 2025* it works grate it did the job ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Recommended but with one qualification *by P***N on October 23, 2023* Revised. This is a good controller, but I have edited this review to deduct one star for the noise. In all other respects it worked really well, but at lower speeds it does generate a whine that is loud enough to become annoying after awhile. Other than that, for my application of the controlling speed and direction of a 17V Buehler gearhead motor it functions smoothly. The board is neat, well laid out and has excellent soldering. The heat sinks on both the MC7812 voltage regulator and the 7575C NFET chip are substantial and should easily handle any heat rise which should be minimal for my application. I particularly liked that both the pot and the direction switch are mounted on wire connectors which makes panel installation simple. As seems common, this regulator has a large heat shrink shroud covering the direction switch terminals which had to be removed to fit into the panel opening. However, since the wires are individually attached to the board at a screw terminal it was simple to remove the shroud and add heat shrink to each wire. The board can be mounted in any convenient spot and the two wiring connectors have plenty of length (about 6 – 7”) to reach the panel.
