Everything from spraying a foot of a RV tongue jack to mitigate rust to hitting hinges on cars. So far, it has done an excellent job, and I have bought multiple cans of this to ensure that outside locks are operable after heavy rains. Finding a specific lubricant for locks is hard, because the wrong oil can gum up things and require a time-consuming cleaning. I used the wrong lubricant on one lock, wound up having to completely take it apart down to the individual springs, soak in a degreaser, then use a correct lubricant to get things working correctly. Every so often, especially after heavy rains, this is something to use on padlocks, both on the lock cylinder, as well as both sides of the shackle. For deadbolts on gates, I like spraying this on the screws, as this acts as an anti-seize, ensuring that it can be taken apart in the future. It also is good for spraying in the keyholes. I have also sprayed it on rusty areas, which works well as a barrier against corrosion. Smell-wise, it doesn't smell really bad. My only wish is that they include more than one of the straw.
