Review: I cannot recommend this product highly enough... if you have afib, you NEED it - It all started for me in January, 2014 when, as I had been doing for years, I ran up the 50 steps to my house. I was 57 years old and pretty fit and healthy. But suddenly I realized something was wrong, I couldn’t catch my breath and my heart was beating like crazy. I went inside and lay on my couch. Should I call 911? Every time I tried to get up from the couch I started to black out. After about 45 minutes my heartbeat converted back to normal and I felt fine, but worried. This was my first experience with Atrial fibrillation (Afib). Over the following months , I had further episodes and took several trips to the ER. The cardiologist put me on Metorprolol to slow my heart down, and eventually Xarelto to help minimize the risk of stroke. The attacks continued to come more and more frequently, as the doctors said they likely would, as often as every 2 weeks and lasting up to 4 hours. Getting out of bed during the night could trigger an attack or simply walking up a hill. It seemed that going from a resting heart rate to any kind of physical exertion could set it off. Even between episodes I frequently had skipped heartbeats which usually signaled an Afib episode was coming within a day or so. After LOTS of research on-line I started taking iodine, hawthorne and minerals like magnesium L Arginine, L Carnitine, , L Lysene and L Proline as these were cited as promoting a normal heart rhythm. They may have helped but the episodes continued. If 10 days went by without an Afib episode, I knew one was coming soon. When I came across ReMag magnesium I was skeptical because I was already taking 200 mg of Doctor’s Best chelated magnesium every day and I couldn’t tell if it was helping. Still, I ordered ReMag and began taking it daily. I noticed that my episodes became less frequent and of shorter duration. That alone was a huge relief. Since I began using ReMag two years ago I have been averaging only one episode every five months, and it usually lasts less than 1 hour, sometimes just a few minutes. I ‘m not experiencing the skipped heartbeats anymore. I owe Dr Carolyn Dean a huge debt of gratitude for making Remag available. It has greatly improved my quality of life! If you are suffering from afib, I cannot recommend Remag highly enough, and also, drink plenty of water, do not let yourself become dehydrated. Many have complained that the taste is a show-stopper. I don’t care for the taste, but I’m not going to let that stop me from using a product that has nearly cured me of afib. In fact for the past year or so I've taken a tablespoon of ReMag under my tongue every evening and waited a couple of minutes before swallowing as I feel this helps me to optimize the absorption of the magnesium. I’ve gotten used to it and it doesn’t bother me. I do experience diarrhea if I take too much. I now hike and bike and walk at least 12,000 steps a day without worrying about triggering an episode. If one comes, I lay down and wait it out, knowing it won’t last long and I’ll be good for months afterward. Finally. I want to take issue with the medical establishment and cardiologists in particular. They admit that they don’t know what causes most Afib, but they only treat the symptoms. Not one ER staffer or cardiologist I've spoken with has ever mentioned using magnesium to treat/prevent Afib. In my case, even though I was taking a magnesium supplement, my heart obviously needs a higher dose of the pure magnesium found in Remag. Some suspicious types feel that pharmaceutical companies want to sell their expensive drugs, and something as simple as magnesium is not going to generate the income they want. We have a unique and proprietary source for the ReMag that distinguishes it from other magnesium products.  In terms of the mag chloride, ReMag is a liquid ionic solution containing pico size ions in solution. ReMag contains Mg+ (positively charged magnesium ions) and Cl2- (negatively charged chloride ions). Ions possess what is known as valency states. A balanced valency state is 0. Ions are typically very unstable particles looking to become neutral. Our technology ensures individual ions in solution remain individual (monoatomic) through stabilization (creating a neutral charge), without bonding to become complex molecules and thus we distinguish them from weak complex ionic solutions by calling them picometer minerals. Ions for example, have the tendency to bond with hydrogen and oxygen to form magnesium oxides and hydroxides. Our process ensure that the magnesium ions do not do this, but that they rather stay as individual mg+ ions, the form most suitable to the body and also requiring next to no digestive energy.The real secret of our process is that we control all the factors in the ionization process so that the finished product is a monoatomic picometer-sized ionic form of magnesium and will remain so due to its electrically neutral stability. A constant exchange of chloride and bicarbonate ions, between red blood cells and the blood plasma helps to control the pH balance and transport of carbon dioxide, a waste product of breathing, from the body.High intakes of dietary chloride typically occurs with the ingestion of large amounts of salt and potassium chloride (salt substitutes). The toxic effects of such diets, such as fluid retention and high blood pressure, are attributed to the high sodium and potassium ion levels, not the chloride ion directly. Chloride toxicity has not been observed in humans except in the special case of impaired sodium metabolism and kidney failure, a condition where the body will have a hard time balancing all minerals.Healthy individuals can tolerate the intake of very large quantities of chloride and the body easily excretes excess chloride through the kidneys. Chloride toxicity or excess is only ever seen in individuals with existing kidney disease and chloride alone is not the cause of the disease. Chloride and high blood pressure links? High chloride intake does not cause high blood pressure. Sodium and potassium imbalance in the body is a contributing factor to high blood pressure. Your body removes unwanted fluid by filtering your blood through your kidneys, via osmosis, to draw excess water out of your blood. This requires a balance of sodium and potassium to pull the water across the wall from the bloodstream into a collecting channel in the kidney. A high salt diet will alter this sodium balance, causing the kidneys to have reduced function and remove less water resulting in higher blood pressure. This puts strain on the kidneys and can lead to kidney disease. High sodium diets are typically low in potassium and other minerals further contributing to the issue. It is a known fact that increasing potassium and magnesium intake alone has a positive impact on high blood pressure associated with high sodium intake. Lowering sodium intake has the same effect, and the reason is that high blood pressure is the function of sodium and potassium balance.A high sodium intake has been shown to increase the amount of protein in the urine which is a major risk factor for the decline of kidney function. There is also increasing evidence that a high salt intake may increase deterioration of kidney disease in people already suffering from kidney problems. These factors are attributed to sodium ions (Na+) and not the Chloride ion (Cl-). Unfortunately people incorrectly associate the word chloride with sodium. Sodium and sodium chloride are not the same thing. Sodium can be found in other compounds, for example (Na2CO3), baking soda (NaHCO3), caustic soda (NaOH) . Sodium and chloride ions have a distinctly different functions in the body. Chloride levels are not claimed on the label of ReMag products. This is a function of FDA labeling laws. The label correctly states the "source" of the magnesium as being Mg chloride. We are only allowed to, or required to list chloride concentration if we intend ReMag to be BOTH a magnesium and a chloride supplement, which we do not. The magnesium itself is derived from 99.99% pure elemental magnesium which is itself isolated from dolomite or magnesite deposits.
