In addition, the release is a little tight requiring more pulling than they should. They're OK for a lightweight 1" strap. I gave them only 4 stars because they didn't include instructions on the proper way to thread & release the straps. Sounds funny but there is a right & wrong way, just check out the internet. If you thread it the wrong way it jams . It's very hard to get them unjammed and many throw the unit away. The 1700 lbs listed is the break limit. I figured the strap carry case would be flimsy junk to be thrown away but I was pleasantly surprised to be very wrong, the carry case is good quality plastic and seems to be heavy enough to probably last the life of the straps. I am going to order some more sets! These are great! And I received them quite quickly also!
