Best of all, it supports HDMI CEC, which means chances are it will turn on your TV and select the correct HDMI input, especially if your TV is a Samsung. If you're really lucky (like if your TV and BD Player are both newer Samsung), you can use your TVs remote to control the player! My old Blu-Ray player was still working fine for playing discs. The software GUI driving the menu is lame and clunky. The apps available are deceiving after Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, it’s Samsung driven apps with no option to choose to install any other apps or streaming service. So if you’re looking to use this as a streaming device I would not recommend it due to its limitations. The front of the machine does not have any lights to indicate power on or off. I have no trouble playing older dvds and home made dvds.
