They never dissapoint. This vest is so comfortable and keeps a person warm working in the cold. Definitely worth the try! Battery recharge is quick and long living. Review: "Great" when it works, still "Good" even when it doesn't... - I was actually looking at another heated vest which was much "thinner" (only meant to be worn under/base layer) when a reviewer mentioned that his wife had bought this one and spoke of it's merits, as it can be worn as an outer layer, has a high collar, and many useful pockets. This thing is awesome. Even without the battery, it's warm. The battery in the ad picture looked bigger/cumbersome but it's really small and has it's own zippered pocket inside the left pocket. On the "high" setting this thing gets ~120 degrees!! You can feel where the heating elements are at that setting! It can actually feel almost too hot/itchy on that setting (across chest), but there are three lower settings that go down by 25% increments, so all is well...but if your shaking/chattering cold to start-off with put it on "high", then gear down accordingly. Great on low-setting to wear around the house if you don't want to heat the whole house just for yourself. Some reviews have stated that the vest stopped working or became intermittent. Mine did this after the first week. This may be due to the battery plug. The vest shuts-off if the battery is disconnected, so it is important to keep "good contact". If your vest stops working or shuts-off, make sure the battery is "charged", there's no dirt/lint in the connection ends, then connect it to the vest and hold the battery plug onto the battery with your hand, turn it on and see if it shuts-off while holding the connector on. If it starts/continues to work I just wound a hair-tie (better than rubberband) around the battery & the plug. Works fine. Getting a new or perhaps the (available) bigger battery "may" fix it, or it may just be inherent to this (Li-Po) battery design. I'll find out for sure...when the time comes.
