I then removed the bottle, shook it well, and repeated the process a few times. To my surprise, it worked. It freed up a good amount of the active ingredient. WARNING: Do not microwave for more than 10 seconds. The bottle is small and it doesn't take much for the liquid to boil over. Start with 4-5 seconds. If the bottle is cold when you remove it, try 6-7 seconds. Go slowly. **Q: The directions say to wash affected area before applying. Won't this remove the salicylic acid each time, or should you let it stay caked on?** A: You will apply the product two times a day and wash the area before applying. A white layer will appear and you should not remove that layer. This layer is a sign that the product is working and the product is chemically breaking down the layers of the wart. **Q: did anyone have burns on your skin from this product?** A: No burns.
