Screws on previous one are thicker. Also, does the outside clip off for cleaning?** A: I was lucky as it was a replacement and I could use the old screws. They were about number 4 by 1/2 inch plated, or brass as there is moisture. The cover does clip off but it is a "good fit" and you would risk damageing it. It also becomes more brittle with age. Mine was in situ about 20 years and only realy needed replacing as the bathroom was refitted and it was a white suite so it showed up as needing renewing due to it becoming an off whiteshade. **Q: Silly question, is the mesh screen optional or must they be fitted** A: Hi, No question is a silly question! Rather a job selecting a new one, some sizes refered to the tubeing size others stated grill cover sizeso rather a careful read was required.New one delivered very quickly and looks great. As with most ner products there were no fixings supplied, the holes are very fine s thin screws are required. Luckily I kept the old ones and I noted the holes are slightly different (wider apart) so new holes can be made to mount the cover. Very pleased with the grill as it fits perfectly at the site and the tube size is perfect for the ducting.
