I ordered one from Amazon about two weeks ago in a high wattage. It was plenty bright but made the fixture so hot it couldn't be touched. In the summer (now) it heated me up too. I also recently decided that I preferred the 'cooler' more natural sunlight-like 5600K light of a CFL like what I saw in my photographic lights.But no CFL will fit in my brass reading lamp. Then I found corn lights. I bought three. One is mini spotlight I use outdoors. I also got an eight watt one and this 5 watt bulb. This bulb shipped fast and so I've used it for a couple days already. The other one from another manufacturer won't be here for weeks yet. Bummer.The light from this bulb is much less yellowish than an incandescent and it runs very very cool. Even after an hour my fixture is not even warm. I lost the last incandescent bulb when I knocked over the lamp and the filament broke. I've already knocked it over again, but this corn light being solid state survived.It is almost bright enough to be ideal. At 5 watts, it's serviceable but not optimal. When after all this time my 8 watt corn light finally arrives that one should be perfect. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ good white-light bulbs for the refrigerator *by F***T on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on April 17, 2014* a little weird without a covering but my fridge/freezer have plastic covers over the lights anyways to help protect them from being bumped & these have worked very well. it's great that they do not give off heat like incandescent bulbs & they are cool to touch. they are not as bright as i hoped (i'd say a 25-30w range, definitely not 40w like some people stated & i hoped for) but with 2 in the fridge they are ample and i much prefer this cool white-color light, it's much brighter & clearer to see what's in there compared to more dingy warm color light. if you only have 1 bulb in your fridge i'd look for one a little brighter, at least 7w. i like to use cool light for task lighting (fridge, countertops, laundry room, garage, closets) & warm light for mood lighting (living/bed rooms.) bathrooms are a toss up- i like cool light for mirrors & use warm over shower/tub. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice small white light, order a couple more *by W***. on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on October 30, 2013* Had this running about 20 hours and it 's fine. Nice bright white light. Does get warm but not hot. Since there's no cover on the LEDs I suggest you do not touch, or especially twist, the LEDs. Install the bulb by turning the plastic base, Not holding the LEDs.Not an exceptionally bright light - probably 400 Lumens but it is a 5w rating. Light output is roughly equivalent to a 30-35watt incandescent at best. Very nice small size. I'm ordering a couple more to use in our garage door opener to replace the 40w incandescent. Since these provide a bright white light compared to a standard incandescent, they seem about as bright as the 40w incandescent bulbs.
