Also, how often does it need changed?** A: Don't buy replacement. Replace filter cartridge resets tank cycle and then kills 🐠. Set your own media stages. I recommend bioballs or fluval on bottom, pillow stuffing, then ammonia sponge pad on top. All can be bought from amazon relatively cheap. Then simply keep your bio media and occasionally rinse them with tank water. Once every 3-6 months I change my sponge pad. 3-6 months I rinse my stuffing with tank water. Once a year I replace stuffing. This has my fish beautiful and happy like little monsters. Be careful where you get advice because sellers are in business to make money and sell more fish when they die **Q: Is this tank big enough for a beta, dwarf frog and snail? Def want the beta if the tank is too small one of the others? Have no clue what I am doing!** A: A betta by itself is fine in a 3-gallon. Maybe a snail would be alright, but definitely not the frog because it would produce too much waste for the small tank and the small filter. My tank is home to 1 betta and live plants. I also have a heater because bettas need 80 degrees F water, since they are tropical fish. My 1 betta is very active and always exploring and hiding in the plants.I would google "basic betta care" and "nitrogen cycle" and do a little reading before buying any animals. Remember fish are living beings and will depend on you for your care, so do your best to provide them a good home =) **Q: does it come as shown with everything inside?** A: Most fish tanks do not come with gravel , decorations , allowing for obvious taste and requirement differences by the end user. This is not a “sad” thing as someone else noted , this allows you to use your imagination ! That’s what this hobby is all about, no ? **Q: Is it made of acrylic? Or plastic?** A: Plastic!!! Mine arrived cracked from the top and across the bottom.
