Review: I bought a great mount and was ready to go but I failed ... - Backstory: I have a 55” television and needed to get it mounted on our wall quickly (our 1 year old is getting into everything and I found him slapping the screen a week before mounting). I bought a great mount and was ready to go but I failed to realize that the mount I bought was designed for wall studs 16” on center. As it turns out the studs in my target wall are 24” on center. This created a situation in which I was going to have to get creative with some sort of unsightly bracket on the wall, tear into the wall to install horizontal 2x4s or, get a hold of some of the best drywall anchors money can buy. Based on the product I am reviewing you can probably guess that I chose the latter option. One thing to keep in mind, I AM NOT relying solely on the drywall anchors to support the full weight of the television and mount (total weight of both is just shy of 60 lbs). My mount has two lag bolts in the center wall stud and four drywall anchors for added support in each corner. Pros: This product is STURDY. As soon as I pulled them out of the package I felt REALLY confident that they were going to stand the test of time. No doubts. I felt like the added youtube channel explaining exactly how to use the product was a great bonus. Cons: The string used to pull the wings tight to the center piece could be a little bit stronger. While pulling the wing against the center piece of one unit the string snapped and I was left with a center screw only partially installed. To get around that I had to insert a very thin nail into one of the smaller holes next to the center hole to anchor the wing and prevent it from spinning so that I could get the first smaller side screw inserted. To make matters more challenging, because the string had snapped, I had to use a pair of plyers to pull the wing tight by firmly pulling the center screw towards me. The fortunate thing is that I was able to avoid having the wing fall into the drywall cavity and no further holes were necessary. If you’re going to use this product I would actually recommend using fishing line or a guitar string. Alternatively, because the product comes with two strings, I would DEFINITELY only use one string for two units and then switch to the other. Summary: Once the mount was installed ln the wall it was very clear that it wasn’t going to move. I have a high level of confidence that my television will stay put and I do not feel like I need to worry about my son being crushed by a falling television. All in all, this is a great product and I highly recommend it.
Review: You can install it easier if you followed these tips - Installation looks easy if you watched youtube tutorial videos but looks intimidating in real life. After successfully installing these, I would say that it is very intuitive if you knew the tips. Otherwise, you will end up like some of the people here that claim they "know what they're doing" but ended up failing the otherwise relatively easy installation. I've read reviews both good and bad to learn more about this fixing and I am thankful that I did. One person offered a very helpful tip, which I will mention below. Preparation: 1. Familiarize yourself with the design and the configuration of this anchor. The 4 teeth at the ends are designed to dig into the back of the drywall to prevent the bar from rotating while you drive the middle screw. 2. Try to do a mockup installation on a piece of a similar thickness spare plywood or drywall. This is really helpful in order for you to get a feel of how strong you need to pull the cord, which is the most common complaint being the cord snapping while pulling. In my experience, you really do not need to tug the cord so hard to the point of breaking it. You need to pull it just enough to allow the teeth to latch a stabilizing bite. And no, they do not need to come with steel cords. These plastic cords are more than enough. I even reused one several times myself. 3. One very helpful tip was given by Ace, which was to pre-thread the middle screw before installing it by driving the screw in and out several times (while still out, of course). This breaks the virginity seal of the plastic and sets the thread for the screw, which greatly reduces the torque required to drive through it. Once you do this, 90% of your problem is solved. I'll explain later. Installation: 1. Make sure to use 1" (25mm) bit. This size is for the white collar. The bar has a smaller dimension than this. 2. Thread the cord through the designated holes. Knot the two ends of the cord to avoid accidental slippage. It also helps if your hands are not oily. 3. Before inserting the bar, pull it and the collar to the ends opposite each other to allow you an unobstructed view when you look through the hole later. Insert the bar through the hole and jiggle it to center. 4. Do not put the collar just yet but pull the cord slightly and drive the middle screw a short distance through the thread to allow you to hold it. It is best that you used your fingers to drive the screw through. Release the cord and adjust the bar to the most centerpoint position (still using the long middle screw). This is where the pre-threading I mentioned above serves its greatest purpose. 5. After centering the bar, tug again on the cord firmly and remove the middle screw. You can find that knotting the ends of the cord to be very helpful. 6. Push the collar in the hole while maintaining the tension on the cord. You can now see that the holes line up perfectly. Keep the tension on the cord and drive the middle screw through the collar using your fingers as far as it can go then follow it up by a screwdriver until you feel it's tight. You can realize that you don't really need to pull the cord very hard because the pre-thread has broken the virginity seal of the bar, which greatly reduced the friction. 7. Drive the two side screws as usual, remove the cord, and then remove the middle screw. 8. Mount your load as usual.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product for heavy loads.
*by W***Z on July 2, 2018*

These anchors are great. Although you need to drill a 1" hole in the wall, if you have something heavy, it is well worth it. The installation went exactly as the instructions illustrated and, for my application anyway, the tensile strength was more than adequate to accomplish what I needed. That is; I needed to pull a warped 3/4" thick piece of wood down flush to the wall. My plan was to anchor another piece at the protruding end (I couldn't drill behind it of course) and then attach a clamping piece to that. It worked without a hitch. I had ordered two of these anchors just to be safe but, the one anchor accomplished this with ease. So you know, I am not a small person and I was unable to flex the warped piece of wood more than about 1/4". The anchor pulled it down the full 1/2" gap.
