**Q: How thick between the two pieces of glass will a coin slab like NGC coin holders work**
A: First, not glass. If the coins are the same thickness it will hold them floating in place. I used it for several challenge coins for my boss before he PCS’d. One coin was thinner than the rest and moved around. The rest stayed in place ( two on top, three across the bottom. It’s a great way to display and be able to see both sides

**Q: Will it hold a clay paw print disk?**
A: If there is nothing else besides the clay print maybe.
When multiple are in the display most of the time there is not enough tension and some items slide.

**Q: Can i put insects in this without being crushed**
A: Yes you can!

**Q: Once items are inserted for display, will the box stay closed or does it have to be in the base to hold it closed?**
A: The box stays closed without the base.  I like using the bases just because they give a little "je ne sais quois" to the look of the display, but the bases aren't needed to keep the boxes closed. (If you accidentally knock a box off the shelf, chances are it will come open if it hits on a wooden floor, or at the very least the item inside will become displaced, but it's easy to reopen the box and reposition the item).

I was a little uncertain that the coin display case would hold 15 very thin to quarter dollar size and thick foreign coins. After I placed the coins inside and stood the case upright, about half the coins fell to the bottom of the case. I carefully reset the coins in the order I wanted them and gently pressed the film halves together around each coin with my fingers and it worked. By pressing the film halves, a slight change could be noticed in the films transparency , but not enough to be troublesome. Then, when the coin case was placed upright the coins kept their position. No worries. So far I really like the very nice coin display case.
