After looking up a simple tutorial on how to pair my controller to the new dongle, it connected immediately and now using it feels much better than it did over bluetooth. Poling rate improvement, no connection issues and profiles swap much faster. The track pads and gyroscope also feel much better and less laggy and has no issues that might have cropped up when using the admittedly convenient but not intended bluetooth mode. If you need to replace the dongle to your steam controller, these work. Review: Might need a firmware update - When it arrived it didn't work out of the box. I did some web searching and found out that out of the box it was set up as a Valve VR dongle but that there was a firmware update to switch it to the Steam Controller. That worked and the dongle works great. For me it was a minor issue but if you're not computer savvy it might be more difficult.
