These vents are excellent for use in the summer as well as winter where they help to extract damp air. They are copletely automatic and powered solely by solar energy. These vents extract approximately 2100 cubic feet per hour. An exhaust blade is supplied as well as an intake blade which can be used to draw air into an area rather than extract it. The SWF-101 model run continuously under sunlight while the SWF-103 Day & Night model includes a rechargeable Ni-MH battery allowing the vent to run both under direct sun light and when no direct sun light is available. All Day & Night models have an on/off switch. Recommended number of fans is: Up to 24sqft, 1 exhaust fan; Up to 40sqft, 1 exhaust fan, 1 intake fan; 40sqft or larger, 2 exhaust fans and 1 intake fan. I bought this to vent the heat from my porch. I found out after I bought it that it also comes in White which is what I would have preferred. Would have appreciated that this information was more clear. Overall it's just OK, doesn;t seem to have much power.
