It seems to hold them together. Often just out of the package "raw" as they are parbaked. They are packaged in nitrogen and will last a year or more but once opened put them in the fridge in a quart ziploc or mold sets quickly. Consume within a week. They are a good substitute for dinner rolls, burger buns and sub rolls. I particularly like them with spaghetti soppig up the sauce. **Q: Why are these so expensive? You can get 6 cases of 4 at walmart for $20. Shame on you for overcharging people!!!!!** A: Shipping costs to customers and Amazon fees are added to items by 3rd party sellers.
