**Q: when I trimmed my dogs nails, it broke the sides of his nail is it because it wasn't sharp?**
A: Hello,

I have had this issue and suspect the same as you. 

I think it is because my dogs nails are so large that the clippers wear down faster and are not sharp enough. Even if I cut very small sections and very quickly it rarely leaves a “clean cut” but often leaves frayes or chips on the edges of my dogs nails. 
My dog is a bull mastiff/Staffordshire mix

**Q: Can lefties use these?**
A: Yes. I'm a fellow leftie, didn't have any problem.

**Q: Does this work for small dogs**
A: I ordered these 9/23/22 and the clippers that I received seem bigger than the clippers in the photos.  The clippers that I received seem appropriate for large hands and a large dog.  My hands are average female hands, and my dog is 10 pounds.  I am returning the clippers.  I am instead going to shop at Meijer grocery store and maybe at Petco.

**Q: Has anyone successfully used these clippers on guinea pigs (I have 5)?**
A: I no longer have guinea pigs, but I think you could.  They are small.  I just experimented by cutting the tip of a toothpick off with them. They made a clean cut and I felt like I had a lot of control.  Seem to recall using baby nail clippers on my guinea pigs and I cut them very frequently to keep up.
