They were not packaged with an icepack so the were D.O.A. after 14 DAYS!!! Amazon said 3-5 days! When I called the company they were nice but I explained they were not the right nematodes. After finally finding Amazon's number I explained what happened they said they would send me another package within 3 days with an icepack. Theirs never showed up for over a week but meantime the company sent me one within 3 days. They did not work anyway. I am very disappointed with this transaction! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shipping may kill the beasties! *by T***N on Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2013* Ordered the product on a Monday, got partial delivery on Wednesday. Since I have Prime I get 2-day free shipping. It took an extra day for them (Amazon fulfilled) to pull it off the shelf and it came today, Thursday. Beneficial nematodes are temperature sensitive so I was worried that too much time in transit or sitting on the truck would subject the little beasties to swings in temperature that might kill them. (Its June for gosh sakes!) I've been waiting by the door for the UPS guy and sure enough I got to the little box within minutes of delivery. I had good reason to be concerned 'cause I popped it open the tiny box and the little plastic tub inside was WARM to the touch! Got those babies in the 'fridge for a cool down and I sure hope that they aren't dead! That would be a total waste of my money, It would have been better if this product was at least double boxed to offer some insulation. Better yet, a cool pack included or even an option to buy some protection! I can't really review the product till I use them in the garden, or find a microscope to look at them closely. I will revisit this review once I have confirmation one way or the other. But beware, you may not get what you pay for! In the meantime I'm going to post to the manufacturer's Facebook page about this experience.UPDATE: I applied the nematodes 2 days after receiving them. I followed the directions and while they were "steeping" in the bucket of water, I took a sample to look at under the microscope. It was thick with the wrigglers! Even after I applied them and had diluted them, I took another sample. They were at least 1.5 hours on the slide and I did see some dead ones, but there were still lots of them left alive. So the transit time and the trip on the hot UPS truck didn't kill them. If it had been any hotter than 75 outside, they may not have fared so well. Now, lets hope that this strain (Steinernema feltiae)gets its job done. One thing I have learned about nematodes is that this strain is an "ambusher" they lay in wait for their prey to come by. The other strain is a hunter-seeker and actively seeks out its prey. Next time I'll find a blended batch.UPDATE: Its been 2 growing seasons since the beneficial nematodes were applied. I will say that there have been fewer dirt dwelling pests in my garden! That has meant more successful plant starts and I believe the beasties have made a real difference! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not sure they helped *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2012* I bought these to help control an infestation of cucumber beetles and cut worms. Applied as directed in the spring and kept things nice and moist as suggested. I can't say that things might not have been worse if we had not used them, but we sure did still have a problem with both the worms and beetles. I'd like to convince myself that these things actually help, and all that I've read says they should, but we did not discern any significant improvement over the problem we had last year.
