## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Returned items should not say ''New''. Amazon issued FULL CREDIT, no need to return.
*by J***S on June 5, 2023*

I suspect the previous owner dropped it. Bent bottom corner, LED display missing a segment, loose wire to AC sockets, won't charge via AC input OR solar, batteries dead below 6 volts (versus 12 volts) ......I bought this even after discerning that one/my item was $200 less than the others even listed as NEW..Years ago, I gambled and bought a used HS1800 for a deep discount since the seller 'Couldn't Test'.I replaced the 3 internal 20AH batteries (no easy task) so I figured the HS800 must have 2 batteries. So this item packaging looked ok but there was a bent bottom corner and a missing screw (sheared off ?).Instructions said to charge for 48 hours so during ''charging'', I noted NO AC output and odd battery readings. A minute after connecting 12 volts to SOLAR (9 to 26 max) I heard ''pffft'' and saw a puff of smoke came out the fan grill. So it was time to power off and check for damage but all I found was a loose hot wire to the AC outlets. When I soldered the black hot wire, the outlets came to life but the batteries weren't happy so I hooked up a known good one and still got NO RECHARGE. Eventually, I contacted a person or chat bot, explained my situation and was offered a $25 gift card ????? The rep then caved and I got a FULL REFUND AND NO NEED TO RETURN. I was going to take it to e-waste, but instead, I removed batteries, ran a 50 amp Anderson SB50 external battery connector. So now I have an 800 watt inverter that will function as a UPS but still won't recharge. I may buy another KISAE pure sine wave model since the instructions warn against pluggins in surge protectors or sensitive electronics to MODIFIED SINEWAVE (Modified SQUARE wave is more like it). The HS1800 with several large external batteries runs a mini fridge and a large chest freezer for about a day when the power goes out. The need to run medically necessary equipment like a wheelchair charger or alternating pressure / low air loss mattress and maybe CPAP lead me to look for low power, long run time solar rechargeable UPS...

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was impressed
*by C***S on April 16, 2015*

Had this all winter long. Worked in -10(negative) degree weather..now summer time is coming I will keep updating this review to see if it works in 90 degree weather. These are temperatures far below and far above what the manual says are maximum operating temperatures. This thing is tougher than I thought. I kept this plugged in for the time I wasn't using it and only once drained it to zero, the rest of the times made sure it didn't drain below 50 percent. So far this thing has not let me down and provides my two fluorescent tube lights (22 watts each) and phone charged for 5 hours with 50 to 60 percent charge left depending on the weather. If it's cold It seems like the battery holds less of a charge or just doesn't last as long as when it's warm out. I'm guessing in the summer time it will hold a much better charge. We will see.

### ⭐ I gave it a try..
*by C***P on May 26, 2016*

This is going to be a rather lengthy review, but I hope it will help take some of the mystery out of this item. At least it seemed like a mystery to me, because I could not find any lengthy credible reviews other than maybe one or two on Amazon. I should also mention that I have three of The Goal Zero products, from the Yeti 400, the Yeti 150, and the Sherpa 50. What drew me to this particular item was the fact that it was rated at 800 watts. With the price at just over $300, I thought it was a great idea. However, I found the same item yesterday at Home Depot for around $256.Hopefully I will be able to post a few pictures that I have taken comparing this item with my Goal Zero Yeti 400.Today it has been rather warm here in Southern California so I decided to plug in my Honeywell circular fan. The fan on low speed draws from 36 to 38 Watts give or take. Upon plugging it in to the Kisae battery, I noticed that the fan seemed to drag while coming on. After about a minute or two of operating, I began to notice a hot plastic smell. Immediately I turned the fan off and went to the Kisae battery. I noticed that it got rather warm and I noticed that the percentage went from "Full" down to 80% in a matter of a couple minutes that the fan was operating. I am not sure if this is normal or not. I am also using the renogy 100 watt solar panel into my Yeti 400. You can see the thick MC4 to Goal Zero 8 mm plug going into the yeti 400 input. You will also notice that the yeti 400 tells you how many watts that the fan is drawing. After running the fan using the yeti 400 for approximately 10 minutes, there was very little to no drop in the battery percentage. This in itself made me rather curious regarding the Kisae's ability to handle a higher wattage device or Appliance.Other appliances with a higher wattage draw, such as lights or small televisions will give similar results. Also, you will notice on one of the pictures that it appears to be a solder point on the faceplate of the Kisae. Once again, I am not sure if this is normal or not. The other thing, which made me a little bit curious was that while taking the battery out of the packaging, it almost felt like you could hear something moving inside. To me it did not appear to be a very well put together quality item such as my Yeti 400 from Goal Zero. The last thing is, if you want to use this with a solar panel other than the one that kisae makes available, you will have to get an mc4 to Anderson power pole connector. You can find it for around 34.00 at Bereadysolar.com.So the bottom line is, is the kisae up to the task? Based on my experience, I would say the Jury's still out. I believe it is left up to the individual's needs. However, as for me, I am actually returning it based on the following, build quality, and not appearing to be able to power things such as my Honeywell fan and other appliances without getting extremely warm. Finally, it's a lead acid battery. Please don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying it's a bad device, I'm just saying that, based on "my" own personal usage experience, I don't think it's up to task.I hope that this review helped take some of the mystery out of this item.UPDATE: Having had several credible Solar power stations, I realize this "was not running Pure Sine Wave..", hence issues with sensitive electronics. Therefore I would advise not to use this on sensitive electronics. The issue is since this was introduced, most electronics "are sensitive." With that being the case, I'd avoid this unit until such time it has been upgraded to meet today's electronics..
