THEN you need to be able to generate that tone (if you will) from another device. Let's say that 35 is the pause button for your TV...you then can use ANY remote controller that has a button that reads 35. Or you may be able to create a device that can emit that same signal (I call them tones). I would like to bust TV commercials by pressing the button on a one button (custom) device....All it does is mute the sound during commercials. Press it again and the sound comes back on. Truly a worth wild investment. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does not recognise all systems *by A***R on June 7, 2019* While it does what it is supposed to do, it does not recognise or decode all systems. For most my remotes it has worked well and has decoded them letting me know some of the reasons that the keys do not do what they should. The ones for my cable box is not recognised (it shows receiving signal) but can't identify or decode. That was the one I needed if for but it let me down. For the TV and blu ray remotes it worked like it should showing me why my new universal only partially worked. I still would have bought it because it can be helpful but I wish I knew beforehand that it does not work with all remotes.
