They do not show any dirt or stains that my preschooler spills on them and so far I have not had to take them off and wash them, just wipe with a damp cloth. I took off one star ONLY because they are a bit loose on my chairs and they do shift around a bit, but do not fall off. My cushions are not super thick, however, and if you had thicker cushions you would not have this problem.
