I purchased the black to cover the rose gold case that I have. It looks nice with the black band I have. Yes you can still see the rose gold stem, but there really isn't any way to cover that. It is very thin plastic and if you take it off the watch you will need to be careful that you don't break it. Has a built in screen protector but mine would move a little when trying to dismiss a message so I had to hit the dismiss button several times or push hard to get it to register that I was touching it. The black wasn't a true black, it had almost a blueish tint to it so it didn't really match my black band.
