In fact, it was probably a happy accident that I've discovered this band in the first place! One of the pins in my original Fitbit band broke from constant detaching and reattaching whenever I wanted to insert the device inside a separate ankle band to more accurately count steps on a treadmill. It was a tedious process having to swap between wrist and ankle use. So when the pin broke, I searched for a new band to see what was out there and came across this one. I'm glad I made the purchase - it feels more comfortable to wear on my wrist compared to the original silicone band! Additionally, I just need to adjust the length of the band to fit it on my ankle - no fumbling around with detaching and reattaching the band every time I make the swap, so less wear and tear on the pins and it's much easier now. And if that wasn't already enough, my Fitbit now has direct contact with my ankle, so it can detect my heartrate and I can earn zone minutes, whereas before I had to slip the Fitbit inside a pocket within the ankle band, so it only had step counter enabled. I barely know I’m wearing it, and I love the adjustability. I usually need the large size band that comes with the Fitbit, and this fits nicely with room to shrink or grow. I don’t find it catching on things like I did with my magnetic metal band. It’s more of a sporty look, and I would feel comfortable wearing this to work out. I haven’t had it too long, so I haven’t had to wash it. I imagine some soap and water would do the job.
