I am very pleased with the performance and capabilities of this device. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Inexpensive and functional *by D***S on January 3, 2013* My idea was to use it to capture video of me doing mathematical manipulations on a pad on my desk for teaching purposes. We do a lot of flipping the lecture nowadays, where the students watch the lecture on line, then we do something more active in class. Since I have access to software to convert screen capture, sound and computer camera to on-line video, the lack of video capture software was not a particular bother to me. It is important to follow the instructions exactly when setting it up. For a while I could not get it to work because I was starting the software and then plugging in the camera, and you have to do it the other way round or the camera appears to be dead. They do have capable on line chat help to get you through this kind of thing, although I discovered this myself by trial and error. Also, at first the camera was killing my USB ports and I had to restart the computer to get them back. The camera itself looks kind of cheesily built, but it seems to function OK, and the price is OK. The auto-focus can be an issue as it may keep cycling between focus and blurry while looking at a piece of paper on a desktop. Not sure why that is. Another reviewer had a good idea in getting the focus you want, then turning off the autofocus feature.
