I prefer a loose curl, and the size of this curlers produced a tight curl on my hair. For this reason, I returned these and ordered the 1.4 inch diameter curlers which I have not yet received.In my opinion, these are very nice curlers. They are easy to use, and the clip holds very well during the night. They are also very soft to sleep on, so I didn't have a problem sleeping on them. They were well packaged, and not at all flattened or deformed. They get a little scrunched when you use them depending on how tight you wind the hair around them, but they regain their original shape by the next night when you want to use them again.If you have long hair and want a tighter curl, the .98 inch diameter rollers may work for you. They would definitely work well for short hair.
