It stands for Dark Neutral Level 4. It’s probably one the darkest they have. My skin is fair and I use LC1 (Light Cool) in winter and MC1 (Medium Cool) in summer. I hope this helps. I think the Manufacturer website has a guide. **Q: Does this make up rub off on clothing easy** A: Not so much. But I also take a wash clothe lightly over face after foundation and blush is applied so the powder isn’t so heavy. I can’t recall it smudging any clothing. Is this for fair skin too?** A: For reference, my shade matches are MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW10, YSL All Hours in BR10 and Estee Lauder DW in 1C0 Shell this foundation in LC1 is about 1 to 1.5 shades too dark and is also too yellow for me. If you're a MAC NW15 or NC15, it could work.
