Great for teaching colour recognition, prepositions and counting etc. as well as fine motor skills. We use these in so many ways for open-ended play. Some ways we use these daily: other toys can have birthday parties with these as the presents; we hide the present boxes in other toys for a special surprise; swap the items around for a fun sorting game; practice putting them in number order; making a tower out of the boxes; practicing prepositions by moving the items around/in/on/behind the box. They are sturdy and well-made and a great size for little hands.
