I use the jig to make a tile: load the jig, apply contact paper over pennies, remove cp and pull pennies out of jig, flip cp and penny square (cp on bottom pennies on top) put cut square of mosaic mesh on top of pennies, glue mesh to pennies, let it dry...Walla. one penny tile that you can put on floor (or wall)...and you can make these while sitting in the comfort of your home while watch TV, etc. My knees, back and construction site pretty much make this my only option. Hope this helps! **Q: Would this work with an English penny?** A: This template is based on the measurements of a US penny. If the English penny is this size or smaller, this template will work. The US Penny is 0.75 inches (19.05 mm) in diameter. **Q: Once the pennies are in place do you apply a certain groat and/or seal?** A: We used spray adhesive on the floor to hold the pennies in place, then we put many coats of polyurethane over it to embed them. If I had to do it again, I'd probably use water clear epoxy rather than polyurethane. **Q: Can you use it for a backsplash? This is a huge time saver and is great to make sure the pennies are evenly spaced. I wouldn't recommend doing a penny floor (or counter) without it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ As described *by I***A on March 28, 2019* Item was as described and definitely made it easier to lay the pennies for our penny floor but you can still very easily run off, even using the template.
