**Q: Is this thread comparable to woolly nylon thread? I've read I need woolly nylon in my bobbin for using a twin needle, to keep from skipping stitches.**
A: They are not exactly the same, but are similar. I have never tried either in my bobbin, just loopers.

**Q: Will this work for shirring fabric?**
A: Ah, I'm looking for elastic bobbin thread for shirring, also!  Gutermann Elastic Thread is so expensive for such small lengths: 11 yards Black for $5.75 here on Amazon. White is $6.36.

**Q: Is this thread good for mending a sock?**
A: - In all honesty, I haven't tried this thread, However!, I've repaired things like socks, and also have even re-woven small holes in shirts, so I can tell you that, if you don't need to make an extensive repair, technically, you can use any color-matched thread for that, as long as it's strong enough AND as long as it has enough "bite".  For example, silk and silk-like threads would be too smooth.  Mainly, you need to 1) catch the intact loops in your item, and 2) tie the broken ends of the yarn, and then 3) weave the broken ends back into the fabric of the sock.   ((Or shirt, since small repairs in wovens can also be done and still be nearly invisible when done correctly.))  I can't think of any reason why a Stretch Thread of good strength wouldn't work, although you also don't *need* to use stretch thread.  But you'd want to match the color of your sock.
- All of the above assumes you're referring to regular knit socks, and not Compression Socks...
- Also, note that the above type of mending is not the same thing as "darning" - when darning, the idea is to use the same weight and type of fiber to replicate the original.  Darning is best if a large hole or tear needs to be filled-in to repair the item, but if you can "nip it in the bud" so to speak, smaller repairs don't need to be fussed-with quite that much.
