First, the fork....with the glass version it clips under the lid so there is no extra piece to hold it in. With the plastic version there is a clear part that covers where it sits. That just makes another thing to wash and it doesn't stay in place well. Second, the clips on the plastic version are less sturdy than the glass version. The plastic is more brittle and therefore more prone to break. We had three and are down to one. This all took place in less than two years. Yes, the glass is heavier, but the quality is overall much better.
