I have a pretty small frame with some extra pounds around the waist. I've been wearing my generic unisex white coat unbuttoned, because it's easier to fit and more flattering for my apple-shaped body. I was hoping a women's coat would allow me the option to wear it closed. I ordered a small and a medium planning to return whichever didn't fit. The small closes comfortably around my waist and the cut is flattering, but the shoulders are way too wide and the sleeves too wide and too long. I'm going to go for the XS instead and plan to wear it open. The fabric is pretty see-through, but I'm fine with that because my hospital is always kept boiling hot for some reason and I want my coat to be on the thinner side.
