The one thing I think is best about this album is that it's a unique sound that doesn't come off as overly contrived or inorganic; they're not being different to be different, or just throwing music influences together hodge-podge with no focus or intent. Rather, this is a fully formed and developed sound, coherent and well communicated. I love that mix of old-fashioned, nostalgic sound with the new and modern and I'm always a fan of good lyrics. I would have given it five stars, except (and this is more personal taste than a comment on relative worth or value of the record) I tend to skip a full third of the album's songs. Not that they're bad, they're just a bit boring or not enjoyable for me to listen to. And the lead song, Bronx Sniper, is fantastic but doesn't quite fit the rest of the album's sound and tone in my opinion. It gives a slight misconception/expectation of the rest of the album listening to that first track. But these, like I said, are more personal qualms and tastes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ pleasantly surprised *by T***K on Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2012* I stumbled upon this accidently someohow on Amazon while searching for new tunes. I am so glad that I did. This is the first album in a long time that I want to listen to all the way through more than once. It's retro but also edgy. The guitar licks are addictive. Charlyne, Hold My Hand, Pineapple Girl and Your Girl are the catchiest tunes of all to me. And then there's Reggae Pie and Doom Wop. The titles alone make the songs worth a listen. It's a great album to crank up in the car and just drive. Thanks to the other reviewers on this album. They helped me make the decision to just give it a chance. I am now a Mister Heavenly fan and hope they find time to make another album in future. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Simply Heavenly *by R***R on Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2011* This is simply one of the best albums of this year. Since I bought it, I've listened to it at least once all the way through everyday. If you're a fan of Man Man, you have no choice but to get this, but even if you've never heard of any of the artists in this collaboration please give it a try.
