Using a roll-top design just like a traditional dry bag, this Class 3 waterproof backpack features a wide open mouth at the top, just requiring a roll and buckle procedure for a watertight fit. I have had it fully submerged for almost 2 hours trying to get it and my canoe out of a strainer, it kept all my gear that i needed for the next 3 days perfectly dry. But because of the shoulder straps and back pad you have to have a certain amount of gear in the bag for it to actually work. That is not a problem for me but I did not think about that before I bought it and is something for you to keep in mind. These straps and back pad though are very comfortable and make this bag great for day hikes if it is raining. also the elastic cords on the back do absolutely nothing. Two days after I got this bag I noticed that the very corner of the top seam holding the shoulder strap on had started to unravel. I live in the Great NorthWest and do not pamper my gear. I expected it to need repair in a short amount of time, and thus would have been the driving point of my review.Well... It has not progressed any further. The shoulder strap is as solid as the day it arrived! Would I buy this bag again, would I recommend it to others? YES! Great size, very comfortable, and most of all waterproof! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ waterproof, comfortable, durable *by B***Y on Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2014* This is a quality waterproof drybag you can wear as a backpack, a great deal for the ~ $50 I paid. Only con is not enough padding at the bottom of the pack.Drybag/Waterproofness: The beige material has the same texture as canvas and feels moist to the touch when soaked in water, but the contents of the pack always remain dry. The black material feels like rubber. You close the pack just like you would a drybag, by rolling up the top and securing it with plastic buckles. Like any drybag, you do not want to immerse this in water, but it will float on water if there is air trapped inside. Like any drybag, there are no zippered side compartments -- just one big waterproof compartment to put things in.Backpack/Wearability: There are 2 straps to wear over your shoulder, one to buckle across your chest, and one to buckle across your waist. There is just enough padding for this to be comfortable against your back without adding too much weight. All the straps are adjustable, and there are elastic bands to prevent the excess strap from getting tangles. It is overall quite comfortable to wear and move around in, but it would be nice if there were some padding on the very bottom of the pack too. Sometimes rectangular things at the bottom (e.g. laptop, book) poke be in the back.Durability: I have owned this for over a year now and it is still in going strong. Some of the sewing on one of the two main straps that go over my shoulder is coming undone, this is probably because I always swing the pack over my shoulder using that strap.
