**Q: What's the logic behind the computing of time for the replacement of filter & UV lamp. How to "disengage" this computing when the unit is unused?**
A: I top have struggled with how to figure out the time it will take to replace the filter. I bought an extra set when I bought the unit. We use it heavily, filtering 4-6 gallons a day, and are 6 months in and no filter lights have come on. The entire unit turns off when not filtering, so if you use it less it will definitely last longer than the year. Hope this helps.

**Q: what does the red indicator light mean?**
A: The light will change from Green to Yellow to Red indicating that it's time to change the filter.

**Q: I need the light only, I just recently bought the kit and the light just burned out, can I order it alone?**
A: Check with the company rather than here on amazon.  The number to reach them is 800/574-0435. Or you could just return the whole thing and get it replaced if it is still within the warranty period from amazon.  Hope this helps.
