There are other products designed specifically for auto soft tops. On a side note- this product, while effective, has a rather strong smell to it; even after it’s dry the smell will overwhelm you (at least it did me) for a couple days or so. If you’re using it on your carpet protectors spray them outside (not while they’re in the car) and allow them to dry for at least a day. **Q: Does it make your mats slippery? How does does it stay on for realistically?** A: It didn’t make my carpeted mats slippery. It does have a unique smell but, that’ll dissipate after a few days. As to how it stays on…? That’s something you’d need to ask a chemist or someone with a technical background. **Q: Does the residue it leaves make it easier or harder to vacuum off dog hair?** A: Didn’t see any change on either. Dog hairs come up no different after applying. **Q: How long does each coat take to dry? And how many coats need applied?** A: Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave your review.
