No grooves in that one and it just doesn't fit well inside my case. I prefer keeping my reeds inside my instrument case, not in an outside zippered compartment, etc. Great value for the price. They fit very well in my case. I now have five of these reed holders. Why five? With five, I can fit two boxes of reeds. I label them with my labeler so I know which set of reeds are my most preferred or current at the time. These reed cases also fit on my music stand very well. Some players may want humidification for their reeds. I learned from Tom Ridenour that you can just spray your reeds with hydrogen peroxide to do that and it will help prevent mold as well. I have a small 1oz spray bottle for that that I keep in my case. That's one advantage of these over most reed guards as they leave the tips exposed so you can spray them. Plus, they're a more convenient size compared to the hygrometric cases.
