If you are replacing a steering rack, do yourself a favor and upgrade to these while the rack is out of the car. If you are just upgrading you still have to drop the rack out and fight the brackets to install. They give the steering a much tighter feeling over the OEM bushings. The bushings I ordered on a Monday morning and they were delivered Friday morning. Packaging was a resealable bag like candy would come in. The bushing I received are black not yellow as pictured. Color does not matter to me, they are installed and feel great. They fit was perfect and tight. I did add some bushing lube so I don't have noisy bushings down the road. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Nice replacement for old OEM bushings. Steering wheel is now straight! *by C***S on Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2013* The last time I had an alignment done, the tech said that the steering wheel wasn't straight because the steering rack bushings were worn; I didn't know that was the cause of that particular problem so I decided I'd replace them.I used the Whiteline bushings to replace the original steering rack bushings on a 2003 WRX with 161,000 miles. I couldn't tell you how these compared to new OEM bushings but compared to the worn bushings these are very nice. Steering response returned or improved and the steering wheel is now straight and when it's turned the car goes in the direction the wheel is turned (no more slack in the wheel). Also, when I would cruise down the interstate at around 70MPH I could feel some movement in the front-end when I would get hit by crosswinds, that seems to have also subsided as a result of the new steering bushings. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Fit 2000 Subaru Legacy Outback. Pain to install! *by S***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2020* This fit my 2000 Legacy Outback. It was a total pain to install, i think this varies between which model of subaru you have. I also believe a lot of my troubles were due to the corrosion of the casing of the steering rack. The driver's side was most difficult. If you have trouble i highly recommend unbolting the u-joint on the steering shaft and shifting it down, allowing the rack to drop slightly more. Make sure to mark the u-joint before you loosen it, to make sure you put it back where it was.Handling feels drastically different. Its much stiffer to turn the wheel, but not to the point of it being problematic. ALSO this resolved what i thought was an alignment issue. Often, especially on the highway my car would pull to the sides. I believe this was due to play in the old worn out bushings (20 years old!). Overall, GREAT mod for the money. Nice noticeable difference.
